In addition to the Mardi Gras parades, the area boasts numerous festivals. The Holiday In Dixie Festival comes to the area in April. The festival includes rides, food and an area-wide treasure hunt. Barksdale Air Force Base opens its gates to visitors in May. This two day period includes many events, highlighted by an enormous air show featuring both military and civilian displays of aerodynamics. Bossier City hosts the Black Eye Pea Festival every June where crafts, gospel music and lines of booths offering delicious food await visitors.

Bossier residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of comedic and dramatic theater presented by the Bossier Council of Arts at the East Bank Theater and the Funny Bone Comedy Club.
