Krewe de les Femmes Mystique hosts 2nd annual Children’s Mardi Gras parade

Revelers will have one last chance to shout their best “Throw me something, mister” to catch beads, doubloons, and other trinkets at the Fat Tuesday Children’s Mardi Gras Parade, Feb. 13, 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Pierre Bossier Mall.

The Krewe de les Femmes Mystique, brought back the popular parade last year. In  previous years the parade was hosted by the Krewe of Aesclapius.  The parade will feature various Krewes from the Ark-La-Tex, local law enforcement agencies, school groups, and marching units, will be held in a family-friendly environment providing enjoyment for all ages.

Krewe de les Femmes Mystique, an all-women Krewe, provides community service and support with an emphasis on helping women and children.  Grand Marshall Jill Conner Browne Author and Sweet Potato Queen Books will serve as the Grand Marshall.  “We are thrilled to continue this important tradition with the only Fat Tuesday Children’s parade in our area,” said Helen Phares, Krewe de les Femmes Mystique Captain.  “Children will have a chance to see Mardi Gras royalty and some of the best floats from the previous parades along with other military and first responder vehicles”.
