They are listed in no particular order: Bossier ranks in Money MagazineBossier City was recognized by Money Magazine as the best city in the state of Louisiana to live in. They cite Bossier as a place with, “ongoing infrastructure improvements, a low cost of living and rich local culture.” State of Bossier AddressIn April, we were able to get all 4 mayors of Bossier Parish as panelists along with Bossier Parish Police Jury President for 2018, Glenn Benton at the State of Bossier Address. Legislative SummitAt the Legislative Summit, we hosted key members of the governor’s cabinet as they gave attendees an overview that focused on the finances and economic outlook of the state. 33 Ribbon Cuttings in 2018The Bossier Chamber hosted 33 Ribbon Cuttings and 1 Ground Breaking in 2018. Whether it be a business that is new in the market, has reached a milestone, or has recently grown/expanded or remodeled, we love partnering to tout our members’ success stories. Innovation North LA expandsInnovation North LA, which was held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week (Nov. 13-15), grew from a one-day event in 2017 to a three-day event in 2018. This year’s initiative focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and cyber in the cities all along the I-20 Tech Corridor. 70th Annual GalaWe rolled out the red carpet for the 70th anniversary of the Chamber for our annual gala. The theme, “There’s No Business like Chamber Business” was a big hit among attendees. Military Recognition BreakfastAt the Military Recognition Breakfast, two-thirds of attendees were military members. They were able to network with the local business community opening up new opportunities for both parties. Military Leadership ForumTop military leaders from all branches gathered at our Military Leadership Forum this year. It was an opportunity for them to, not only, address our community, but they were also able to make inner service connections as well. Barksdale InterchangeThe Bossier Chamber led a coalition of support for the Barksdale Interchange/I20-I220 Access Road, gathering more than 60 letters of support, making buttons and joining a caravan of supporters to the state capitol, garnering resounding approval for the project all along the way. 2018 LACCE Chamber of the YearThis year, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce was recognized as the 2018 LACCE Chamber of the Year, in the Large Chamber Category. The Bossier Chamber excelled in three categories: Community Development, Organizational Development and Professional Development.
