Bossier Chamber of Commerce Hosts Successful Northwest Louisiana Career and Job Fair with Partners

The Bossier Chamber of Commerce hosted its premier hiring event with the City of Bossier and Louisiana Works on Wednesday, March 4 at the Bossier Civic Center, presented by Northrop Grumman. The job fair had an impressive turnout with over 260 job seekers, including 39 veterans. There were 65 employers present who conducted on-the-spot interviews and hiring opportunities.

Additionally, Job Readiness: A Prelude to Career Success was held on Tuesday, March 3 at the Bossier Civic Center. This event provided job seekers with resources to enhance their professional journey. Job seekers had the opportunity to update their resumes, receive interview techniques, refine their attire choices with Dress for Success Shreveport-Bossier and even received complimentary haircuts courtesy of VH Barber and Styling Academy.

"There are thousands of veterans, military spouses and transitioning military members in our community that are looking for gainful employment. At the Bossier Chamber, we are glad that we can partner with other organizations in our community to host a job fair every year specifically for the military-connected individuals in our community," said Lisa Johnson, President/CEO of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the Chamber, the City of Bossier City and Louisiana Works, other key partners included the City of Bossier City, Department of Veterans Affairs, Buffalo Soldiers Shreveport Chapter, Women Veterans of the Ark-La-Tex, the American Job Center, Boots on the Ground, Goodwill, Dress for Success, The Coordinating and Development Corporation, Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, City of Shreveport, KSLA Careers, CHRISTUS Health, Brentwood Hospital, and Willis Knighton Health.
