Education | Workforce Development | Community Enhancement
The Bossier Innovates Foundation is dedicated to advancing the economic, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities of the region, particularly those programs of the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. We strive to promote programming that cultivates growth and development of a thriving business community in NWLA.
The Foundation does so with three distinct pillars:
- Workforce Development
- Community Enhancement
What We Do
Education: The Bossier Youth Leadership Program is a key component to our pillar of education. For more than 25 years, the Bossier Chamber has been sending area High School students out into the world prepared to take on leadership roles. The program is a partnership between the Chamber and the Bossier Parish School Board. See the program in action here on the Facebook page!
Workforce Development: Area businesses support our future workforce by sponsoring scholarships for our area high school students each year during our Education & Innovation Luncheon and Innovation Week efforts. Additionally, businesses make contributions to help pay for students to earn certifications when they are still in high school through a partnership with Bossier Parish School for Technology & Innovative Learning (BPSTIL).
Community Enhancement for us means walking the streets of Bossier, coordinating with existing agencies and working to help solve challenges we face in Bossier City and Bossier Parish through fundraising, grant writing and awareness efforts.
STEM Scholarships from our business partners
Each year, the Bossier Innovates Foundation seeks business partners to award scholarships to Bossier and Caddo Parish High School Seniors. The past several years, we have partnered with General Dynamics Information Technology for a large portion of our scholarships, as well as AT&T and Magee Resource Group.
The application for 2022-2023 is available. Due by Nov. 4.
