BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration recognized business owners and supporters who exemplify Louisiana’s entrepreneurial resilience and diversity at the 2024 Louisiana Small Business Awards ceremony Thursday, May 2, at the Louisiana Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge.

“Louisiana’s small business community continues to be a shining light driving our state’s economy forward,” LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois said. “That is why here at LED we are equally committed to growing existing Louisiana businesses of all sizes as we are to attracting new investments. Congratulations to this year’s honorees for their significant achievements in – and contributions to – our great state.”

Among those honored was the Bossier Chamber of Commerce’s own 2024 Chairman of the Board Jonathan Reynolds, who was named LEDC Micro Lender of the Year for his work at Carter Credit Union to benefit our local small business community. The award, offered for the first time this year, is given to the top performing lender offering micro loans in the state. This is the first year they (LED) presented this award. Carter Credit Union is the only participant in the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) loan program from North Louisiana.

“I'm honored to represent Carter Credit Union as the recipient of the Micro Lender of Year Award,” said Reynolds. “While our performance and loan production is noteworthy. I'm most excited about the economic impact my MBS team and I continue to achieve as a result of providing access to capital to small businesses along with the advice, guidance, and education that facilitates growth, expansion, and retention of business and workforce in the State of Louisiana.”
